Biking in Lander, Wyoming: Following the Popo Agie River
Ride Summary
Experience
Confusing effort. I felt like I was exerting myself, but my heart rate monitor didn’t agree. Was my perceived exertion distorted because of the heat, elevation and travel…or did I just need to change the battery on my monitor?
This was signed as a bike route. The traffic was fairly heavy, and it was nearly entirely construction traffic. Large trucks carrying sand, gravel, and back hos and things, along with a large number of double and triple trailer semis.
Finished the ride with a coffee shop stop. Got delicious coffee, touch-free. The shop boasted a metal sculpture outside of a lady on a bike with coffee and bikeyface. It’s like they made a statue of me (except for the itsy bitsy teeny weenie yellow polka dot bikini!).
